As a child my mother read to me almost daily. I now look back at those times and cherish the memories. Something that my mama taught me was that books are very important. She always told me that the more I read, the smarter I'd be and the easier school would be for me. Now as an adult, I absolutely love to read to my children. They love it! There's nothing quite like getting into your pajamas, getting a blanket, curling up with your kids and reading to them. I watch my kiddos as they listen. It's an adventure for them, something to laugh at,or something new to learn. The more I read to them, the more they want to read. I can only hope that one day when they have kids of their own that they will find as much joy in reading to them as I have had cuddling up and reading to them. With all that being said, I had many, many books to choose from to pick my top five favorites!
This book was one of the first books that I could read to my mom ALL by myself! I actually wasn't reading. I had it memorized but was so proud to sit on momma's lap and "read" to her. This book brings back all the nostalgic feel goods!
Oh the memories! I got to order this out of a book order that was sent home from school. Not only did it come with the book but with a peanut butter cookie recipe and mouse shaped cookie cutter. I remember the night I got it, my mom helped me make cookies for the family. Then we sat down, ate cookies and read my new book!
One Duck Stuck was not a book that was read to me. I was a little older when my mother found this book. My sister loved this book. She looked so cute sitting up there on mommy's lap, laughing and enjoying this book. I remember it being read frequently. So cute! It is now a book my children like for me to read to them. I love it also!
Such a great learning book! Wanting to help your child learn his/her ABC's? This is just the book for it! My son loved this book when he was little. I'm not sure why but he found it funny. The great thing is that it kept him entertained and he wanted to read it A LOT! He learned his ABC's quickly with Chicka Chicka Boom Boom!
A cute classic! The Poky Little Puppy was, by far, my most favorite book that momma read to me. I still enjoy it to this day. My kiddos like it as well. In this book you will follow this little puppy around as he learns not to be so poky so he doesn't miss out!
There you have it! My favorites. Although there are so many great children's books! If you would like to get updates when I post about or read other awesome children's books, be sure to subscribe to my blog. I enjoy books for kids and hope to get young children into loving to read as well! God Bless!
